Zohydro is a brand name for extended-release hydrocodone, a prescription opioid painkiller. Zohydro is used for chronic pain, and when used as intended it’s safe. Zohydro abuse can be fatally unsafe – especially when it’s combined with other drugs like alcohol. Opioids are habit-forming, and the increased amounts taken with Zohydrol abuse can cause overdoses.
